What are the reasons for the poor flatness of asphalt pavement?
October 9,2021

1. Influence of compactness
On the one hand, the compactness of the subgrade is not enough, which leads to uneven settlement of the subgrade and local subsidence. On the other hand, the compactness of the asphalt concrete itself is not enough. With the increase of vehicle action times, it leads to local subsidence of the pavement, which is one of the reasons affecting the flatness of the pavement.
2. Influence of asphalt mix proportion
Asphalt mix proportion refers to the improper mix proportion of asphalt aggregate and aggregate, resulting in large asphalt aggregate ratio, low stability, and oil spilling, rutting and wrapping on the pavement, which is a main reason for the attenuation of flatness.

3. Influence of temperature
Due to the human pollution and destruction of nature and the reduction of the Antarctic ozone layer, the "El Ni ñ o" phenomenon has occurred all over the world. Especially in the summer of 1997, in East China, the temperature was above 35 ℃ for nearly 40 days, which is a rare phenomenon in history. If the previous asphalt label is still used, it obviously does not adapt to the changes of the environment, which shows that in recent years, Large oil spilling, poor stability and deformation of pavement are an important reason to speed up the attenuation of flatness.
4. Asphalt mixture paving and rolling are congenital deficiencies
Due to the backward paving machines and tools or the influence of pavement base, the asphalt pavement is uneven during construction, and the asphalt concrete paving temperature is too low. The supporting or untimely rolling machines and tools also have a great impact on the flatness. These factors will constitute the congenital deficiency of the flatness of asphalt concrete pavement.
